CAD Buddy Weekly #5 "How to hide and reveal elements in Revit Architecture"

Picture the scene: you have set up your camera in the perfect location for a 3D view in Revit, only to find there are some objects blocking the view.

Well, instead of deleting them from your model, why not just hide them from the view? It's easy, and this weeks video shows you how to do it.

CAD Buddy Weekly #4 "Using linetype scale in AutoCAD"

If you have set up your layers and linetypes properly, you want them to just work, right? Well, one of the pitfalls with some linetypes is that even if you have drawn them in properly, the pattern may not appear. This is usually down to an incorrect linetype scale, and the good news is that it is easy to fix. I show you exactly how in this video.

CAD Buddy Weekly #3 "How to draw a diameter symbol in AutoCAD"

Well, if you are anything like me, this one has been a puzzle! In the days before search engines, this was a tricky little thing to find out how to do. The good news is, in this video I show you how to do it.
This is one of the simplest, yet most hidden, things you can do in AutoCAD. Once you see how to do it, you’ll never forget!

CAD Buddy Weekly #2 "How to draw a continuous dimension in AutoCAD"

So, you want your dimensions to look neat and tidy, right? There is nothing worse than messy dimensions, especially when it is so easy to get them to align nicely with each other. Check out the video to see just how easy it is!

CAD Buddy Weekly #1 "Change background colour in AutoCAD"

This week, I show you how to change the background colour of the model space. This can be useful, depending on the colour scheme you use for your layers, because some colours can be hard to see on a grey background. I find that the darker the background, the better, but the video shows you how to choose whatever colour you like!

A new CADventure!

So, what if you’re looking for a quick fix on a CAD problem? What if the video tutorials on CAD and Stuff are too long, or too specific on topics that don’t interest you right now? What if you’re a newbie and just want some quick tips to get started?
Then, how about this: a weekly, short, snappy, get in, get what you need, get out type of video tutorial? Sound good?
Well, today a new side project for the CAD and Stuff channel launches, and it might be right up your street. It’s called CAD Buddy Weekly, and it’s going to be a series of really short videos aimed at helping you find shortcuts, tips and tricks that don’t need a lengthy explanation, but which will save you time and make you more productive.
The project is interactive in that anyone (yes, you!) can suggest ideas for what should be covered by the videos, so get in touch!
